Cimarron Grain was built in 1977 for storage of Mr. Franz’s farm grain to be used at the feedyard.
The original build was three vertical steel bins with a total capacity of 1,000,000 bushels of grain. In the fall of 2014 a 500,000 bushel temporary storage bunker was added. In 2016 it was increased to 700,000 bushels. In 2019 a full-time elevator manager was hired and again capacity was increased by an additional 650,000 bushel. The elevator handles both wheat and corn.
